| Just came back from nice little family holiday to Brighton for 2 days. It's SHOCKING how that was my first time to Brighton despite living in England for 13 years. What on earth have I been doing in the past? If I asked Penny for her views on this, I'm pretty sure she'd say 'Oh, that's so upsetting!' haha (sorry, little inside joke here). The weather was fantastic so the holiday photos look lovely. On the other hand, it was not unlike a Duke of Edinburgh expedition in that we walked around NON-STOP for two days, which nearly killed Fiona (my younger sister). I guess she's slightly less hardcore than our DofE Gold Award recipient (me) mwahahah. It seems like the first term's vac scheme saga has pretty much come to an end and my summer plans have consolidated. I guess it is partly because of this that I have deceived myself into thinking that I deserve a break. Not that I'm saying I don't, but I think the length of my 'well-deserved' break ought to be given due consideration. Personally, and I'm sure many of you will agree, I believe that 3 weeks is quite adequate, if not already bordering excessive. I just need to be disciplined really. Despite ascertaining and identifying this problem, I am further faced with the problems of transforming plans into action. Setting aside the fact that my day nearly invariably begins at 11am instead of the optimum 8am, Eugene is coming back to London soon (along with my Mina and various snacks)! I am very thankful of his assurance that we will be able to spend time with each other working in the library, but with most respect, I find it difficult to entertain this concept. Nevertheless, I shall embrace the challenge with open arms, so let's bring it on. | | |
| Finally managed to hold a proper conversation with my Jackie-baby today. Yet another piece of evidence to show that we're on the same wavelength... Jessie: actually I'm a bit of a perfectionist, although a lazy one.
Jackie: me too what a good quote again jessie! basically i want to get the best but i put in minimal effort.
Jessie: and then i sulk when i don't get the best!
Jackie: and truly thought that i should've got it

| After abandoning my xanga for well over 4 months I've decided to update it.. and yes..at the expense of academic excellence. The first term of second year has been so hectic and busy well beyond what I had anticipated. It reaches a point when you are numbed. You don't have the time to reflect and appreciate the significance of what has happened and then you have to deal with the next shock. I've been struggling with keeping in touch with even my closest friends possibly as a result of living back at home and all the workload. I might not be able to spend that much time on the phone, you might not hear from me for a while.. but I STILL LOVE YOU GUYS!~~ Keeping in touch with all you lovely people will be right at the top of my typically long list of New Years Resolutions. I hope I'll be there to share the good times as well as the less merry ones. I've been really worried about you but I'm sure you're well looked after now. Just want to let you know that I'll be here to offer my full support whenever it's called upon. ~~~

| I'm finally in HK after month's of anxious waiting and I'm fitting in admirably (in my humble opinion), although navigation is still sometimes difficult. I don't know if anything has changed since i last came here, afterall it was only last year when I last set foot in 'Fragrant Harbour' (literal translation of Hong Kong). However I felt really excited, as though I was destined for a great time here, as soon as I landed. I also started admiring the contours of the land, which my friend found rather strange. I guess it did make me sound like a country-girl. It was also very special in that my dearest Zoe and her lovely dad picked me up from the airport.
Today - my second day in HK, was spent addressing the thing at the peak of my priorities. I went to get my hair straightened before i did anything else. Thanks to Kendy, that was addressed pretty soon. When I saw her, it made me reaslise how long it has been since i last saw here and then for a moment or two, i was overwhelmed by my emotions haha. EVEN THOUGH our dinner plan fell through in the end, I still feel rather flattered that we met up for lunch.
By the time I finished my little 4-hour hairdo, my dinner plans were already suspended. That was when Sandra came into the rescue. She's such a sweet girl~~~ Thankz baby! I had such a great time and you've suddenly restored a focus to my life. hahahaha. And you have pretty good taste too!
